Irish Times

Hello

I write for the Irish Times on design issues. I am intrigued by your May trip and would like to write something on it for our April edition of Innovation magazine - a preview that looked at some of the more exciting design initiatives/designers in China.

Would you be interested to correspond? If so we could start by asking where you think the impetus for new design is coming from in China and which design houses/products are particularly impressing you.

best wishes

Dear Haydn:

Thanks for contacting us. And sorry to be slow in responding. I was traveling the last few days.
I would be more than happy to provide you with information about exciting design initiatives in China. I have some experience myself as I speak Mandarin and have been spending some time there over the past few years. I can also provide direct access to our partners in China, Package and Design Magazine. The editor there, Huang Li, is very in touch with the latest design initiatives in China. His written english is very good and interviews via e-mail would be very effective.

Please let me know how we can help.

All my best,

Christopher
